What Makes an Intelligent Enterprise?

Last weekend, while in attendance at the National Restaurant Association’s trade show in Chicago, I was able to attend a few of their education sessions. I’m not sure if they do these every year or not, but I found the discussions to be extremely interesting and helpful.  One in particular called: CEO Perspective: What Makes and Intelligent Enterprise really caught my attention.  Presenters included Al Bhakta, CEO of Genghis Grill, John Marshall, owner of Main Street Bistro, and Marc Buehler, CEO and President of Kona Grill (oh, and I think he should add “Awesome HotSchedules Customer” to his title as well).

Fred LeFranc, president of Results thru Strategy, was the moderator and he did a great job of keeping the conversation moving along through the various topic areas. These included how today’s best restaurant executives use technology to make better decisions and take more effective action. Each expert shared some of the ways they had been successful, as well as some of the mistakes they had made and learned from along the way.

I caught a bit of the discussion on my handy Flip, and thought I’d share a few snippets. It’s worth the 2 minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbKY12d_-fU
