HotSchedules & The Outback Pro Am...

Reuniting with some old mates, made for an amazing event at the 7th Annual Outback Steakhouse Pro Am. Ray P and I had the fortune of becoming Outbackers in the early 90’s with a combined 14 years of service in Texas. Empowering leadership, impactful culture, and a core value of giving back to the community, are the very things that make Outback Steakhouse a great place to work and dine.

As fate would have it, Ray and I never met or worked together with Outback Steakhouse in the early 90’s, but we had mutual friends in the company, which provided an instant bond as Outbackers when we met at former employer, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, in 1999. Six months after meeting, HotSchedules was founded and 9 years later we were selected to be OSI Restaurant Partners’ labor management partner. Having the opportunity to be a sponsor for this year’s Outback Pro-Am was a great accomplishment for us personally, and a worthy sponsorship for two great causes.

HotSchedules Serves it up at the North Texas Food Bank with People Report

 

This week, HotSchedules is attending the People Report conference in Dallas as first-time attendees and future sponsors. This conference is an incredible event for HR professionals in the restaurant industry, where professionals can share in the success of their company initiatives centered around HR. People Report is affiliated with Share our Strength, an organization committed to ending childhood hunger in America. This is the second year that People Report has kicked off its conference with community service, which HotSchedules participated in at the North Texas Food Bank yesterday. With People Report's 100 volunteers, including our eager HotSchedules team and executives from national restaurant chains, we were able to prepare 22,000 meals in four hours. 
We've been very impressed with People Report's conference thus far and will have exciting things to report back to you next week. Thanks to People Report for putting on a great event and for your dedication to serving the community and letting us help!

HotSchedules: Giving Back!

More than ever before, this holiday season we at HotSchedules are so incredibly grateful for the friends and families who have supported our company and team.Not only is this a time we like to appreciate our blessings, the holidays are an opportunity for us to give back to those who haven’t been as fortunate.

This year our team at HotSchedules participated in The Capital Area Food Bank’s effort to feed the hungry. Friday, December 18th over 20 HotSchedules’ employees volunteered at the Food Bank’s South Congress warehouse, and one afternoon later our team had distributed 18,028 pounds of food that provided for 14,351 meals. Volunteers at Capital Area have made this organization the most important source of food for its Partner Agencies, accounting for 76% of food for pantries and 38% for soup kitchens. HotSchedules’ Vice President David Cantu credits Rene Carlin, Volunteer Resources Manager, and the rest of the team at The Capital Area Food Bank in Austin, “These folks have a sincere compassion to serve others and a strong commitment to end hunger in Central Texas.  We're joining in and hope our efforts will have an impact for those that are less fortunate this holiday season.”
