They Got It On (Film)

Today marks the close of our 3rd annual video contest and I'm positively amazed at the response. 52 videos came in across the summer, with a big final push late last night. Some are laugh-out-loud funny, some are touching, some demonstrate some awesome musical skills. The production quality varies, but that's not really the point. All are fun, creative and demonstrate a humbling passion for HotSchedules (no doubt the cash prize helps...).

Strategic Scheduling Stimulates Successful Shifts & Shopper Satisfaction

Why do we as managers take for granted the phenomenal opportunity we have in making deliberately great employee schedules? Why is it that we copy and paste the same shifts for the same employees every time? Why do we allow ourselves to lose great people because we didn’t take a few extra minutes to write strategic, performance-based schedules? Why did we let the drama play out negatively because we chose the wrong actors? These questions could go on and on. I believe the answer lies somewhere between complacency (managing the status quo) and plain old convenience. It is simply easier to take the last schedule and reuse it, despite its negative impacts and significant cost.

Happy HotSchedules Halloween!

HotSchedules celebrated Halloween in a big way with a pre-emptive party on Friday the 28th. Decorating and costume contests were followed by mountains of sweets and treats and dressed- up kids and adults.  On the list of characters included an Angry Bird, a zombie, a wizard or two, skeletons, a geisha and That 70s Chick.  Take a look at our video and have a safe and happy Halloween night!
